Parents will be provided with game schedule on a weekly basis and practice schedule at the start of each session.
How often do teams practice?
For Fall and Winter Sessions: Typically, one 2 to 3 hour practice per week. We have two practice locations during the week. Players can attend one practice or both. We strongly believe in players 'staying in the gym' to get better.
For Spring/Summer Session: Typically, we practice more as we are preparing for AAU and State Nationals competition.
In addition to the program fee, are there any other costs?"
Yes. Items such as the team gym shoes, socks, backpack, compression shirts, etc. will need to be purchased through the program.
Are travel costs included in the program fee?
No. Players are responsible for their transportation, food, hotel accommodations and coaches' hotel accommodations (to be split amongst players), etc. Parents are encouraged to car pool and share hotel room to help manage costs, if applicable.
Are there any fundraising opportunties to offset some of the fees/costs?
Yes. There are two types of fundraising events, individual and team. For individual fundraising events, all proceeds will go into the individual girl's 'virtual fundraising bank' to cover future program fees, travel, uniform additions, team gear, etc. For team fundraising events, all proceeds will go to the team to help cover costs such as equipment, hosting events, coaching fees, travel costs, etc. Participation in individual fundraising is always OPTIONAL. Participation in team fundraising is not optional.
My player can't join X-Citement right now. Is there opportunity for her to train/practice with X-Citement instead?
Yes. We offer X-Citement Skills Academy where players can participate in the team practice sessions. Cost of X-Citement Skills Academy is $200 for 10 practice sessions. *NOTE* Most basketball trainers charge $25 - $40 per hour. This is a great value!
Will there be a parents meeting? Is it important to attend?
Yes. It is very important for all parents to attend the meeting. In this meeting, the Head Coach and assistant coaches will be there to explain the program in greater detail, communicate important dates, and answer any questions. This is also a good opportunity to meet the other parents in the program.
As a parent, what is my expected level of involvement?"
It's up to you. You can be active by participating in our parent's group, help with fundraising efforts, team tasks like statistic gathering, operating the scoreboard, etc. At a minimum, we would expect for you to support your player and the team by coming to the games, show team spirit and cheer X-Citement to victory!
Do you have any references?
Yes. Parents make the best references. Please feel free to reach out to any of the current parents in the program and ask about their basketball journey and experience.
Can I attend practice?
Yes. All practices are OPEN to parents. We 100% encourage and invite all parents to attend as many practices as they can. This gives the parent the opportunity to see what is being taught in practice and determine if their player is absorbing and following the instructions. Club basketball is an investment and you should always check on your investment.
